Taylor Swift joined ABC’s Robin Roberts during the 2019 NFL Draft on Thursday night (April 25), where she officially announced that her new single “ME!,” featuring Panic! at the Disco’s Brendon Urie, is dropping on Friday, along with a music video.
Before her interview with Roberts, Swift gave NFL Draft viewers a tour of Music City, including her high school, the Bluebird Cafe where she performed frequently and the Sony Music Publishing building.
“‘ME!’ is a song about embracing your individuality and owning it,” she explained, before thanking her fans for their excitement and support. “You have no idea how fun it is to make stuff for people who care about it so much.”
Swift gave a clue earlier in the day on Instagram, as she posed in front of a butterfly-wing mural in Nashville with the word “Me!” painted above her head. “Thank you to everyone who showed up, I’ve never been more proud of your FBI level detective skills,” she said of the fans who figured out the location of the mural ahead of time.
