Just hours after receiving three ARIA Awards, Tame Impala has gone into sharing mode: they’ve dropped the new video for “The Less I Know The Better”.
Shot by the Spanish creative collective and directors Canada (Justice, Phoenix, Scissor Sisters), the clip is a strange tale of high school lust and jealousy (and King Kong) played out in a technicolor trip. Fans of the song will be thrilled to know the song’s villain “Trevor” gets a healthy name-check.
Tame Impala Scores Career-High Debut on Rock Charts
“The Less I Know The Better” is one of the standout songs from Tame Impala’s third album Currents, which opened at No. 1 in Australia, No. 3 in the U.K. and No. 4 in the U.S. on its release in July. It’s the third official video released from the album, following “‘Cause I’m a Man” and “Let It Happen.”
The release of the new video caps a big month for Tame Impala. Kevin Parker’s alternative rock outfit has just wrapped a tour of Australasia and the band members were on hand at Thursday’s ARIA Awards in Sydney where they won best group, best rock album and the coveted album of the year honor. They return to the road Jan. 29 when they play the Heineken Music Hall in Amsterdam.
The NSFW clip for “The Less I Know The Better” hasn’t been uploaded to YouTube yet but it can be seen at the band’s official Website.
