If the world is going to end, you might as well dance through it. Like, scavenge for food, too, but dance while you do it. Dance when you take shelter in an abandoned town. Dance when you finally find that food. While you’re at it, have a food fight. Just have a regular old parade through Armageddon.
That’s pretty much the vibe of the video for Grammy-nominated duo Sylvan Esso’s latest single “PARAD(w/m)E,” directed by Dan Huiting. It stars vocalist Amelia Meath and a rambunctious crowd of cool kids. They run amok through the desert, and things have not gone well for humanity. We can’t say how these people found themselves in such straights, but with a hook this catchy, things just can’t be that dire.
“PARAD(w/m)E” is a stand-alone single that follows the band’s album What Now, which is currently in the running for best dance/electronic album at the upcoming Grammys. Sylvan Esso debuted the song on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Kimmel, but the official video dropped this Wednesday (Jan. 17). Watch it below.
