Superfly Productions has announced some of the bands for its ninth annual “Superfly During JazzFest” concert series. The concerts will take place April 21-May 1, concurrent with the festival, at venues throughout New Orleans.
Wilco will begin the series April 21 at the State Palace Theatre. Other series alums returning in 2005 include Galactic with Keller Williams on April 29 at the State Palace Theatre and Gov’t Mule, April 29-30 at the Orpheum Theatre (with the Dirty Dozen Brass Band opening the second night).
The Mars Volta will play the Orpheum Theatre April 29, with DJ Nobody supporting.
Special shows aboard the Riverboat Cajun Queen include the Radiators on April 23 and Particle on April 29. As always, the series will utilize late-night club slots. Les Claypool will play a late show April 28 at TwiRoPa, and Benevento/Russo Duo will play the same venue with Mike Gordon on April 30.
Superfly is co-producer of the Bonnaroo festival.
