How to manage fan relationships and extend them beyond each concert is something all concert industry stakeholders want, and today’s data makes that more possible than ever.
The issue will be discussed in-depth at a Billboard Touring Conference panel called “Beyond The Ticket: Identifying, Communicating and Transacting with Your Best Fans.” On board are Cameo Carlson, head of digital business development, Borman Entertainmen; Matt Galle, senior agent at Paradigm and founder of PhotoFinish Records; Eddie Meehan, CEO and founder, ground(ctrl); Dan Berkowitz, founder and CEO, CID Entertainment; Jon Cohen, co-founder and CEO, The Fader and co-President/CEO, Cornerstone; and Gogi Gupta, founder, Gupta Media.
Contemporary digital commerce and engagement platforms offer the ability to cultivate a meaningful and memorable relationship with fans. This panel discussion will focus on how tours are leveraging new technology and the access to data that those platforms provide, and the powerful analytics tools available to help artists maximize fan engagement and revenue throughout the event life cycle and beyond. While ticketing the tour is the beginning, this panel will also dive into how venues, agents, managers, promoters and artists can “super serve” the core fan base while engaging and pulling in the next generation of fans.
“Touring is now the main income source for many artists, but the most savvy acts don’t just sell tickets — they leverage their touring activity and data insights to deepen and monetize their connection with fans,” says Ticketmaster svp and gm of artist services Zeeshan Zaidi, who will moderate the session. “Our panelists approach this from different angles: management, agency, marketing, and premium services. We’ll mine their play books and hear their war stories. The goal is to give the audience useful new things to try.”
