Super Bowl LI had a heartbreaking finish for Atlanta Falcons fans, as the team gave up 31 straight points to lose 34-28 to the New England Patriots. But that didn’t keep Mark Wahlberg from rubbing it in Usher and Ludacris‘ faces.
After the Pats’ comeback win in overtime (which Wahlberg ironically left early and didn’t see), the actor called up Atlanta natives Luda (who co-starred in 2008’s Max Payne with Mark) and Usher on FaceTime. While there was surely a little bragging in the calls, apparently Boston-bred Wahlberg wasn’t terribly mean about the shocking outcome — because both Usher and Ludacris shared screenshots of their video chats on Instagram.
“So of course he would call to Rub it in,” Ludacris captioned his pic, adding “Damn this hurts.” Usher seemed a little less bitter about the call, writing “Can’t win them all. Congrats to the Pats. We will RISE UP and comeback stronger! Mark, we’re coming for that — in 2018, lol!”
Also taking to social media to mourn was rappers T.I., 2 Chainz and Bow Wow — who were unfortunately all at the game to witness the tough loss in person. Bow Wow even admitted early Monday morning (Feb. 6) that he still hasn’t slept because of the pain.
