Veteran Sony BMG Nordic executive Per Sundin has changed camp, well informed sources tell Billboard.biz.
Sundin is joining Universal Music as managing director of its Swedish company. Sources say Sundin will report in his new role to Vico Antippas, president, Nordic, central and eastern Europe, at Universal Music Group International.
Stockholm-based Sundin has served as MD of Sony BMG Sweden since a restructuring of the major’s Nordic team in October 2004. A Sony Music stalwart, Sundin was MD of Sony Music Nordic prior to the Sony BMG merger, and ran the Swedish company as MD of Sony Music Sweden before that.
Sundin’s arrival is one of several recent changes to Universal Music’s ranks in the Nordic region. Marten Aglander, his predecessor, exited in January after more than five years with the company, the last four as MD.
Meanwhile, Eddie Nygren, financial director at Universal Music Norway, has been elevated to FD for the company’s Nordic region.
Nygren joined Polygram (now part of Universal Music Group) in 1993, and has served in his most recent role since January 1999.
A Universal Music Group International spokesman declined to comment.
