Suge Knight will finally speak on the highs and lows of his life. Showtime will produce a feature-length documentary, tentatively titled ” Suge Knight,” about the infamous co-founder of Death Row Records, according to the NY Times. Suge will not only speak on the rise and fall of Death Row Records but also produce a soundtrack for the film through his new company, Black Kapital. The film’s soundtrack will feature “original tracks from new and established performers,” according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Film heavyweights will have a hand in the documentary. Antoine Fuqua (“Training Day,” “Brooklyn’s Finest”) will direct and “delve deep into the life and storied exploits of the Death Row Records co-founder as well as the volatile and highly influenced era in music that he presided over,” according to Showtime via CNN.
Bradley J. Fischer, producer of “Black Swan” and “Shutter Island,” will produce the film alongside Fuqua.
“Suge Knight’s reputation and rise to power in the music business has become the stuff of legend,” Fischer said. “Antoine Fuqua and I are thrilled to be partnering with Showtime to tell this remarkable story and take audiences behind a curtain that most have been terrified to even approach.”
David Prior, Laeta Kalogridis, James Vanderbilt, Lisa Remington and Edward McGurn will executive produce, with Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Chuck Philips co-producing, according to THR. There’s no release tied to the film as of yet.
