STRFKR is getting back on the road with “Miracle Mile.”
The new album will be the third for the Portland quartet, landing Feb. 19, 2013, on Polyvinyl.
On the set’s lead track, “While I’m Alive,” the electro-pop group embraces funky grooves, ELO-evoking vocal effects and a YOLO-style philosophy: “While I’m alive/I’ll live my life,” frontman Joshua Hodges sings.
STRFKR self-produced the album before handing mixing duties to Sonny DiPerri, whose credits include 30 Seconds to Mars and Interpol. It’s the follow-up to 2011’s “Reptilians,” which peaked at No. 26 on the Billboard Heatseekers chart.
Today, the band announced a tour beginning Feb. 26 in Seattle and running until March 24 in Omaha. On the road they’ll play noted venues like the 9:30 Club in Washington, DC (March 13), Webster Hall in New York City (March 15) and Metro in Chicago (March 19).
