Stray Kids made their U.S. television debut Monday (Jan. 27) on Live With Kelly & Ryan, during which they performed the new English variant of their song “Levanter.”
The release of the new version of “Levanter” last week along with an English version of “Double Knot” and the appearance on the ABC talk show coincide with the start of Stray Kids’ District 9: Unlock tour this week.
During a talk segment on Live, Kelly Ripa pointed out the energy of Stray Kids’ fans in the studio audience and Felix explained the meaning behind the name of their fandom, Stay. “The reason why we chose ‘Stay’ is because from ‘Stray Kids’ if we take out the ‘r,’ that ‘r’ becomes ‘reason.’ So we thought that Stay would be the reason why we’re Stray Kids.”
Bang Chan also spoke about how the group has been training together prior to putting out their first formal releases in 2018, and discussed their upcoming New York City show on Wednesday at the Hulu Theater in Madison Square Garden with Ryan Seacrest.
Afterward, Ryan ended the segment by bringing some fans onstage from the crowd to introduce them to the band.
