Dave Stewart has extended his publishing relationship with BMG Music Publishing through a new long-term agreement.
Stewart first signed with BMG in 1982 along with fellow Eurythmic Annie Lennox. Since then, his writing projects have included film scores (1984, Lily Was Her), a recent collaboration with Mick Jagger on the Alfie soundtrack, a musical based on Barbarella and songs with such artists as Gwen Stefani, Anastasia, Shakira and t.A.T.u.
Based in Los Angeles, Stewart is currently working with Lennox on new songs for Eurythmics releases planned for later this year. He also has a joint-venture label — Weapons of Mass Entertainment — distributed through Interscope.
“The word unique is over-used, but in Dave’s case it is entirely appropriate,” says Paul Curran, BMG Music Publishing group managing director. “I am delighted to have renewed our deal with Dave and look forward to continuing to represent him.”
