
To coincide with the release of his first book, “The Tanning of America: How the Culture of Hip-Hop Rewrote the Rules of the New Economy,” Steve Stoute partnered with AOL HuffPost Media Group to develop a web series titled “The Tanning Effect.”
In “The Tanning Effect” the music mogul, founder of Translation Consultation & Brand Imaging, talks to artists Jay-Z, Pharrell Williams, Lady Gaga and Interscope Chairman Jimmy Iovine on hip-hop, culture and influence. Steve Stoute has had a hand in Jay-Z’s exclusive line with Reebok, Lady gaga’s deal with MAC Cosmetics and more.
“The Tanning of America: How the Culture of Hip-Hop Rewrote the Rules of the New Economy,” out this week, touches on the impact that hip-hop has had and does in the economy and America’s spending. “I’m speaking to the early beginnings of Hip Hop and how those trends effect how consumers shop and how brands have experienced seismic growth because of Hip Hop and the culture it created,” Stoute told Loop21.com.
