Steve Aoki knows rock music. He’s been running the Dim Mak label for 20 years, and that whole scene got its start in the underground punk and alt-rock movement of the late ’90s and early 2000s. No doubt he was on top of My Chemical Romance‘s giant record The Black Parade, and seeing as how he just rocked a remix of Blink 182, Gerard Way figured he was best suited to give “Welcome to the Black Parade” a make over fit for a major milestone.
Way’s iconic vocals are as clear and crazed as ever, but Aoki took full creative freedom with the rest. It’s a jarring electro anthem, complete with the roar of the festival crowd and screaming synths in true Neon Future fashion. The drop is pretty trappy, too. Listen below.
