Before he heads back into full Neon Future mode, Steve Aoki will take his hip-hop album Kolony on the road.
The long-haired party animal will leave a trail of bass in his wake as he snakes across North America, kicking off a breakneck 32-city run in Washington, D.C., on Feb 10 and coming to rest in his adopted home of Las Vegas on March 17. He’s not going to go it alone: “Mic Drop” collaborator Desiigner will deliver his hits as an opening act. We can definitely see the New York rapper bringing lots of Aoki-level energy, and his work with fellow dance producer Mura Masa on “All Around the World” proves he’s ready for a real dance music get-down.
Because Kolony is such an exercise in collaboration, fans can expect more special guests to join in select cities. Tickets go on pre-sale for AOKIFAM fan club members Friday, while general public tickets are set for release Tuesday. Each ticket sold is also good for a dollar donation to the Aoki Foundation, an organization that supports brain science and research areas with a focus on regenerative medicine, brain preservation and humanitarian crises.
