Globetrotting DJ Steve Aoki and NFL free agent Colin Kaepernick linked up in New York City on Wednesday (Oct. 25) where they had a pic snapped of them taking a knee together in front of a massive photographic mural in Tribeca. Aoki said on social media, “We #takeaknee to STAND UP against racism.”
Kaepernick added, “Great to build with Steve Aoki and talk about Malcolm X and Yuri Kochiyama’s great friendship!” He then quoted Kochiyama, saying, “The movement is contagious, and the people in it are the ones who pass on the spirit.”
The two also took a pic together doing the famous Aoki jump, marking the 840th jump to date. Billboard has reached out to Steve Aoki’s camp for further comment.
