“Waste It On Me” follows two prior collaborations between Aoki and the popular septet. He remixed their song “Mic Drop” for a variant featuring Desiigner last year, and this year’s Love Yourself: Tear saw him work with the group on the vocalists’ (Jimin, Jin, Jungkook, and V) song called “The Truth Untold.” “Mic Drop (Remix)” went on to become RIAA certified gold.
Based on the brief preview shared when people tweet the hashtag for the song, it sounds like “Waste It On Me” will be an ambient EDM track. The lyrics heard so far are in English, potentially setting “Waste It On Me” to be BTS’ first song entirely in the language.

Aoki recently made history as one of three DJs to become an official part of the country’s history, with a recent donation of a set of his touring gear to the Smithsonian’s National Museum of American History, while BTS recently made history with a speech at the United Nations and were recognized by the South Korean government today with an order of cultural merit.
“Waste It On Me” will be the group’s first song since the release of their Billboard 200 chart-topper Love Yourself: Answer, and will follow the release of mono. by RM, which came out on Monday.
Update: Aoki’s team confirms the song will be featured on Neon Future III, set to be released on Nov. 9.
