When Steve Angello was booked to headline Ultra Europe, fans speculated that a Swedish House Mafia reunion could be in the works. Angello joined his buddies Axwell and Sebastian Ingrosso for a surprise closing set at Ultra Miami in March, so it seemed plausible. It did not come to be, but Angello gave fans hoping for more a light at the end of the tunnel.
Billboard Dance confirmed with representatives of Ultra Europe that Angello signed off from his set saying, “Steve Angello loves you, Swedish House Mafia loves you.” The massive screen behind him was black and read the word “love,” although there wasn’t an image of Swedish House Mafia on the screen, as some outlets have reported. Fans are speculating that this mention of the trio could point to a Swedish House Mafia reunion tour in the works, fueled more by a recent, cryptic advertisement for Axwell & Ingrosso‘s single “Dancing Alone” in the trio’s hometown of Stockholm.
Angello also gave fans a taste of unreleased material. He debuted a collaboration with duo Still Young on the Ultra stage, clips of which you can hear in the twitter videos posted below. Angello recently released his three-part album Human in April. He’s currently holding down a residency at Cream in Ibiza.
