A New York steakhouse has answered the prayers of all those looking for an authentic meat dress to complete their Lady Gaga Halloween ensemble.
Old Homestead Steakhouse, appropriately located in the city’s Meatpacking district, has created a genuine meat dress inspired by Lady Gaga’s infamous ensemble from the 2010 MTV VMAs. The dress, made of porterhouse steak and pork rib-eye, is selling for $100,000.
Marc Sherry, owner of Old Homestead, told the NY Daily News that he was inspired after seeing Gaga’s all-meat look, which he felt was “tacky” because it was made from only flank steaks. “I wanted it to be a cut above,” said Sherry, whose dress is made from all USDA prime meats. “Wear it for an hour, have fun with it…Then you might have enough meat for six months for your freezer. So that the $100,000 is not that expensive.”
Lady Gaga Explains Her Meat Dress: ‘It’s No Disrespect’
The complete outfit was modeled by Old Homestead waitress Mery Lopez outside the steakhouse to attract potential buyers. The dress comes with meat accessories, as well as a designer goody bag containing filet mignon, chocolate sauce, kobe burgers and candy corn.
Gaga wore the original meat dress in protest of the military’s “Don’t Ask Don’t Tell” policy. According to Yahoo.com it has become the most searched-for costume this Halloween season.
