Rod Stewart, Kenny G., Chaka Khan, Black Eyed Peas, Train and Ashlee Simpson are set to perform on the CBS TV special, “A Home for the Holidays,” which spotlights inspirational stories of adoption. Actor/singer Jamie Foxx, who recently inked a deal with J Records, will host and perform on the one-hour show, which will air Dec. 22.
Stewart will perform “What a Wonderful World” as well as a surprise duet with Foxx. Kenny G. and Chaka Khan will also team for the song “Beautiful.” Black Eyed Peas will perform their hits “Where Is the Love?” and “Let’s Get It Started,” while Train will perform “Calling All Angels” and Simpson will play “Pieces of Me.” In addition to his duet with Stewart, Foxx will also sing his original song “Heaven.”
Meanwhile, Duran Duran, Avril Lavigne and Maroon5 have signed on for NBC’s first primetime New Year’s Eve special, “NBC’s New Year’s Eve With Carson Daly,” which will air Dec. 31 from 10-11 p.m. ET. Daly will host the show from Rockefeller Center in New York, although sources say that at least one artist performance will be pre-taped.
Acts have yet to be announced for New Year’s Eve specials on ABC and Fox. This year, Dick Clark will continue his longtime role as host of ABC’s “Dick Clar’s Rockin’ New Year’s Eve” special, while Fox’s show is expected to feature performance highlights from the 2004 Billboard Music Awards, which the network will air live on Dec. 8 from Las Vegas.
