Grammy-nominated Hidden Beach artist Angie Fisher, Motown artist Stacy Barthe and Reed Shannon, who plays Michael Jackson in Motown the Musical will be the featured performers at the Living Legends Foundation’s 19th awards dinner and gala. The event will take place at Hollywood’s Taglyan Cultural Complex on Oct. 9.
Veteran radio personality “Jammin” Jay Michaels will host the gala, which is honoring 11 individuals and a radio broadcast company. The 2015 honorees include: Atom Factory CEO Troy Carter, Universal Music Group general counsel/executive VP Jeffrey Harleston, SESAC VP of writer/publisher relations James Leach, KKRL (Real 92.3) Los Angeles morning personality Big Boy, Ruben Rodriguez Entertainment CEO Ruben Rodriguez, Minter & Associates CEO Kendall Minter, philanthropist Dr. Logan H. Westbrooks, Gwendolyn Quinn Public Relations president Gwendolyn Quinn, Moses Media CEO Don Cody and the Carter Broadcast Group, represented by president Michael Carter. Gospo Centric and B-Rite Music founders Vicki Mack Lataillade and Claude Lataillade will be presented with the first ever Gospel Music Executive Award. Last year’s honorees included Ethiopia Habtemariam, Motown president and president, urban music/co-head of creative for Universal Music Publishing Group, Revolt CEO Keith Clinkscales and Radio One chairperson Cathy Hughes.
Chairpersons for this year’s dinner and gala are Jon Platt, president, North America of Warner/Chappell Music Publishing, and Brenda Andrews, former senior VP of Rondor Music International. Event proceeds will enable the Living Legends Foundation to provide financial assistance to former music industry employees in need of help.
