European streaming service Spotify has secured the global exclusive of the new Jimi Hendrix music video for his previously unreleased cover of blues song “Bleeding Heart.”
The video, now available on Spotify’s free ad-funded service, marks the first time it has run a full length music video.
It was directed by Julien Temple, who has directed feature films and documentaries including Sex Pistols movie “The Filth and The Fury.”
The promo depicts Hendrix as if he were performing on the Pyramid Stage at the Glastonbury Festival, complete with shots of supermodel Kate Moss apparently watching from the side of the stage.
Hendrix never played the iconic U.K. festival. He died on the night before the first ever Glastonbury Festival, staged on Sept. 19, 1970.
The Sony Music release “Valleys of Neptune” from Jimi Hendrix will be made available exclusively to Spotify Premium users on March 4 ahead of its March 8 release.
