The digital, on-demand music streaming service pulled data on the most popular streamed songs, artists, albums and viral songs to determine the winners in Sunday night’s top four categories: album of the year, record of the year, song of the year and best new artist.
Spotify also determined that Sia’s “Chandelier” was the most-streamed song around the globe in both the record and song of the year categories, as well as most viral in record of the year (viral = number of streams divided by the number of shares).
The 57th annual Grammy Awards will air on Feb. 8 at 8/7C on CBS.
Here are the big winners, according to Spotify:
Record of the Year: Sia, “Chandelier”
Album of the Year: Pharrell Williams, G I R L
Song of the Year: Hozier, “Take Me to Church”
Best New Artist: Bastille
