Spiritualized mastermind Jason Pierce will hit the road in October and November for a nine-date U.K. tour, on which he will debut songs intended for the group’s first studio album since 2003’s “Amazing Grace.”
According to his Web site, Pierce will be backed by Spiritualized guitarist Doggen, a string quartet and gospel singers. The site promises “tracks from the Spacemen 3 and Spiritualized catalogues and songs from other artists” will be performed.
The as-yet-untitled new album is expected in early 2007 and is described by Pierce as “the work of the devil … with a little guidance from me.” Pierce also remixed the Editors track “Camera,” which is one of the B-sides on the group’s latest single, “Blood.”
