(The Hollywood Reporter) — Los Angeles-based game developer Spark Unlimited has partnered with Atari to create a new franchise — designed from its inception for television and movie screens as well as for multiple game platforms.
Spark CEO Craig Allen said the company has created a game concept aimed at the mass market that will allow players to experience the action on next-generation platforms and portable game machines, as well as in everyday life “beyond the box.” Business terms of the deal were not disclosed.
“We’ve been looking for projects that would open up opportunities in TV, film and other forms of media and also connect to the game itself,” said Allen, who noted that today’s gaming audience routinely mixes its choice of entertainment options.
