This year marks the 20-year anniversary of Soundgarden’s Seattle grunge classic “Superunknown” and the Chris Cornell-led band is marking the occasion with a special performance at the iTunes Festival during South By Southwest.
Soundgarden’s “Superunknown” at 20: Classic Track-by-Track Review
On Thursday, March 13, the band will play “Superunknown” in its entirety for the first time ever. The SXSW event will be streamed live via the via iTunes store, available on all personal computers and mobile devices. Those with iOS devices or Apple TV can use the iTunes Festival app to stream the performance in HD.
The show will take place at ACL Live at the Moody Theater.

Last week, iTunes Festival announced a bunch of other SXSW performers, including Coldplay, Pitbull, Keith Urban, Willie Nelson and Imagine Dragons.
Yesterday, A&M Records and Universal Music Enterprises announced plans for a pair of “Superunknown” reissues to hit shelves June 3. First, there is a 2-disc deluxe edition with the original remastered and with a second disc of 16 demos, rehearsals and b-sides, 10 of which have never been released before. The Super Deluxe Edition contains 5 five discs, with an even greater bounty of rarities, in addition to a hardbound book with new liner notes and rare photos, re-imagined artwork and the entire original album mixed in Blu-ray Audio 5.1 Surround Sound.
