Sophie Turner is never one to shy away from speaking her mind and she did just that when she got wind of the first internet scandal of the new year.
YouTube star Logan Paul — who got his start on the defunct social media video app Vine — posted a now deleted clip that featured himself and friends in Japan’s Aokigahara, also known as “suicide forest” due to the number of suicides that take place within the woods.
Paul filmed what appeared to be the hanging body of a man while he shared his thoughts on their discovery, which many viewers found to be offensive and disrespectful. Paul took to Twitter after the backlash to apologize but many deemed his apology as insincere, with Turner chiming in as as one of the many people using social media to bash the star and his apology, which she referred to as “self-praising.”
@LoganPaul You’re an idiot. You’re not raising awareness. You’re mocking. I can’t believe how self-praising your “apology” is. You don’t deserve the success (views) you have. I pray to God you never have to experience anything like that man did.
