Sony Music U.S. Latin has appointed Karina Puente and Manuel Prado as national promotions directors. The two will oversee Sony’s promotional efforts in pop, urban and regional Mexican formats.
Puente will be based out of Texas and will oversee the central region and East coast; Prado is based out of Los Angeles and will oversee the West Coast.
Tropical promotion will continue to fall under Carlos Perez, VP of marketing and promotion for Sony Music U.S. Latin’s tropical division.
George Major, the company’s longtime head of promotion has left the company but will continue to work on some projects as a consultant.
Puente and Prado both joined Sony BMG in 2005. Prior to Sony Music, Puente was promotion director for EMI Latin and Prado worked at EMI Latin’s promotion department.
