Sony Music Entertainment let go of about 15 staffers on Wednesday including about a dozen at its Sony U.S. Music Sales unit. Among the staffers no longer with the company are: senior VP of channel marketing Kevin Twitchell, VP of field marketing Tony Camardo and sales Colleen Andersen, who oversees the Amazon account.
Sony eliminated the catalog sales staff at the distribution company and moved senior VP of catalog, digital and visual media Harry Safter over to executive VP of sales Michael Block’s team at Sony BMG Music Entertainment’s Commercial Music Group.
Additionally, the company cut five field sales account reps, two assistants, and two regional sales reps (one from Columbia and one from RCA/Jive).
A Sony spokesman declined comment.
