Having acquiring a 50% stake in Four Music earlier this month, Sony BMG has additionally reached an agreement to handle distribution for the Berlin label.
Universal Music Germany has been handling Four Music distribution for the past year. The two parties have reached an amicable agreement to rescind their current distribution contract, which had another year to run. Terms of the pact were not disclosed.
“I am pleased that we have been able to come up with what is economically a very favorable solution for Universal Music which simultaneously does justice to the interests of the other parties,” comments Frank Briegmann, president/CEO of Universal Music Germany. “We have managed to create a win-win situation.”
Helmed by managing director Fitz Braum, Four Music’s stable of artists include Freundeskreis, Max Herre and Gentleman.
