Sony BMG Music Ent. has acquired US rights to the 2006 Slamdance Film Festival winner, “The Sasquatch Dumpling Gang” through Sony BMG Film and the company’s Home Entertainment division.
The film is directed by Tim Skousen and produced by Jeremy Coon and Triggerstreet Productions/Trigger Street Independent’s Kevin Spacey, Dana Brunetti, Mark Kassen, Adam Kassen, and Crazy Dreams’ Randy Holleschau.
From the team responsible for “Napoleon Dynamite,” “The Sasquatch Dumpling Gang” is the story of young, fantasy/sci-fi aficionado and his friends who think they’ve found Bigfoot, after stumbling onto some huge footprints in the woods, and hatch a scheme to profit from the situation.
At the Aspen Comedy Film Festival last week the film movie took top honors for best director and best actor going to Skousen and Justin Long respectively.
“The incredible team behind ‘The Sasquatch Dumpling Gang’ makes it a perfect film for our audience and a natural to succeed in the home entertainment market,” said Jim Wilson, executive VP/GM of home entertainment for Sony BMG.
