Sonicbids, a website that connects musicians with promoters to book gigs, today announced the launch of a new Facebook app. The new program will allow artists to post Sonicbids’ content — including bio, video, gig, press kit and more — on their Facebook pages to better reach fans and promote shows.
Panos Panay, Sonicbids founder, told Digital Music News that, “We realized that we were helping people get gigs but not cultivating their audiences. We needed to do more.”
To that end, Sonicbids also recently acquired ArtistData, a site that connects bands with fans.
Sonicbids was launched in 2001 and has more than 300,000 bands and 25,000 promoters and licensors on its site. It also claims to have last year booked more than 80,000 shows.
