With the No. 1 debut this week of “No Molestar,” Marco Antonio Solis sets a record for the most No. 1 albums on the Billboard Top Latin Albums chart, with nine of Solis’ albums topping the chart to date.
The Fonovisa release was also the singer-songwriter’s best sales week ever; it sold 23,000 copies in its first week, according to Nielsen SoundScan. That was enough to put “No Molestar” at No. 19 on the Billboard 200. Solis had previously been tied with Los Temerarios and Luis Miguel with eight No. 1’s on the Top Latin chart.
Also debuting on the Top Latin Albums chart this week is slain banda star Valentin Elizalde’s last studio album, “Solamente El Gallo De Oro,” at No. 13.
