Snoop Dogg and tha Liks will team for a summer North American tour, set to kick off July 18 in Portland, Ore. While full venue information is still being nailed down, the trek is likely to run through late August. Snoop proteges tha Dogg Pound, Bad Azz, and Doggys Angels will also be on the bill.
Snoop Dogg can currently be seen co-starring in the John Singleton-directed “Baby Boy,” and is featured on the movie’s Universal soundtrack. Tha Liks’ new Loud/Columbia album, “X.O. Experience,” is due tomorrow (July 10). Meanwhile, Death Row will on July 31 release a collection of previously unreleased material from tha Dogg Pound, whose members Kurupt and Daz Dillinger have since rechristened themselves DPG.
Under that name, the duo recently issued the album “Dillinger & Young Gotti” on the D.P.G. label. Kurupt’s solo album, “Space Boogie: Smoke Oddessey” (Antra/Artemis), is due July 17. Tha Liks are among the artists making guest appearances on the set. On the same day, Bad Azz issues “Personal Business” (Priority), his second studio album.
Female rap trio Doggys Angels rose to fame last fall with the track “Baby If You’re Ready,” which spent several weeks at No. 1 on Billboard’s Hot Rap Singles chart.
In related news, Snoop Dogg has signed an exclusive deal with the Erotic Networks for online posting of content from “DoggyStyle,” the adult film he recently directed. The network’s official Web site is hosting clips from the film, as well as music tracks and other adult-oriented content.
