Jamiroquai may be up against The Weeknd at the first day of Coachella on Friday (April 13), but they’ll have some help in their corner from Long Beach’s most well-known rapper.
Snoop Dogg is going to make a guest appearance with Jamiroquai during their set Friday night at the desert festival, Billboard has learned. The “Virtual Insanity” British funk group is performing their first concert in the U.S. since 2005, but they’re facing a difficult time slot. Jamiroquai take the Mojave Stage at 11:45 p.m. PT tonight — 20 minutes after The Weeknd takes the Main Stage.
That’s a tough choice for festivalgoers, but for fans watching at home, it just means toggling between two different streams. A webcast of both performances can be found on YouTube all three days of the festival.
On Thursday, Jamiroquai appeared on The Late Late Show With James Corden, with lead singer Jay Kay leading the group through “Automaton,” the title track from their 2017 album. The band heads to San Francisco for a midweek (April 17) play at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium before heading back to Coachella to play against The Weeknd once more, although there’s no word yet if they’ll have a special guest for weekend 2.
