Classic is the move in the modern house world. Everyone from Calvin Harris to Porter Robinson is looking to the past to make bold moves today, and SNBRN is the latest producer to get bit by the old-school bug. His latest tune “If I Can’t Have You” doesn’t just nod to a disco anthem with its title, it harks back to golden-era house with its groovable beat.
“I set out to make this 2018 version of a (’90s style) house track,” SNBRN says in an emailed statement. “It has elements of modern dance, but with a handful of older sounds. There were so many different inspirations going into it that gave the song such a special touch.”
Harloe‘s touch is one of the most important. Her silky vocals lend the upbeat rhythm some serious soul. She’s belting out her love like SNBRN sweats out the rhythm. It’s a downright good time from start to finish and a great way for SNBRN to kick off his summer plans.
