Your debut album should be a thesis statement on who you are as an artist. For Snails, that means a whole lot of disgusting noise, face-scrunching bass and killer features designed to get the party bumping so hard, you just might vomit. There’s absolutely no way you’ve heard anything like this.
Indeed, thanks to Snails, “Vomitstep” is now a thing and it is fully spewed on The Shell, a totally outrageous collection of grimy sounds and mosh pit motivation. Its 12 songs are unrelenting. There are no dull moments, but there is diversity. There are some dub waves, some drum’n’bass rhythms, some bright chords and plenty of drops so hard, you’re gonna black out. Fans will recognize lead singles “The Light” feat. Sarah Hudson, “WFSU” feat. Waka Flocka Flame, and “Only Want U” with the homie NGHTMRE and Akylla. The real fun part, though, is discovering all the nasty bits that the single lead-up left out.
The cinmatic intro and interlude “The Rise” interlude sounds like it was created specifically to make Snails upcoming live performances that much more incredible. He is about to hit the road with a massive new live production. Study these tunes while you can.
