
As they prep their first studio album since 2008, Slipknot have hinted at more details surrounding the forthcoming 5: The Gray Chapter. The Iowa-based metal veterans just shared a video unveiling new looks for the new album. And by new looks, we mean new masks. Check out the video below:
Since 2008’s All Hope Is Gone, Slipknot has lost drummer Joey Jordison (who quit the band) and bassist Paul Gray, who died tragically in 2010 of a drug overdose. In the new video, we get a glimpse of the masks worn by their replacements, though their exact identities are not yet known. Brave Words surmises that guitar tech Alessandro “Vman” Venturella could be taking over on bass, and that Jay Weinberg (the son of Bruce Springsteen drummer Max Weinberg ) will be behind the kit.
At any rate, the nine-man band will release 5: The Gray Chapter on Oct. 21 via Roadrunner. Check out the official music video for new song “The Negative One” below:
