The third Jagermeister Fall Music Tour will be headlined by heavy metal group Slayer. The trek will kick off Oct. 8 in Minneapolis with Hatebreed and Arch Enemy as support acts. The tour follows last year’s debut Jagermeister tour headlined by Dope and a spring tour featuring (hed) pe and Saliva.
The Fall Music Tour has 39 dates scheduled through a Nov. 29 finale in Los Angeles. Each show will feature a local opening act in addition to the three main bands; the local groups will be sponsored by the Jagermeister Band Program, which seeks out young talent in the hard-rock genre.
Slayer will be touring in support of two releases. The group’s live DVD, “War at the Warfield,” issued last month by American Recordings/UME, debuted at No. 3 on Billboard’s Top DVD Sales chart. A 20th anniversary box set, “Soundtrack to the Apocalypse” is due Nov. 18, culling tracks from the group’s studio catalog as well as demos, live cuts and rarities.
