The eclectic Italian artist showcases his production sensibilities on “Fire,” bolstering Jolie and the Key’s earworm chorus with suave bass plucks, filtered throwback synth chords and understated percussion. Phonat succeeds in putting his stamp on the song without overproducing it, striking a perfect supporting balance to help the vocal hook resonate.
