Skrillex and his clan are pushing a funky, new house music sound with a 12-track compilation out on OWSLA, adorably titled HOWSLA.
The compilation was curated by Skrillex and his mate Chris Lake. It’s a dirty, funky, bass-heavy sound. There’s a lot of glitch and attitude in this house. The lights are off and the edges are out. Everyone is invited to the party, from Alex Metric to JOYRYDE, Wiwek, Autoerotique, and more. Two Chris Lake tracks make the cut. His hit “Operator (Ring Ring)” sets the tone. There’s a new tune from Skrillex as well, a gritty collaboration with Habstrakt.
To support the new sound, OWSLA kicks off a Sunday party in LA at Hollywood’s Le Jardin. Every other week, the homies will get together to bring these HOWSLA vibes to life. The party starts Sunday, May 28, and runs through Sept. 3. There are also some HOWLSA-themed merch goodies coming soon.
