
SiriusXM is paying tribute to Prince with the launch of a new channel, the company announced.
The Prince Tribute Channel debuted late Thursday (April 21) night, and will remain on the air through April 29. The station will feature music from the late icon’s vast body of work, including his earliest recordings and through his recent release, HITnRUN Phase One. The channel will also feature music by artists associated with Prince, as well as collaborations and entertainers inspired by his legacy.

Prince died at the age of 57 inside his Paisley Park home in Minnesota.
“Prince’s passing is tragic and a true loss for music fans around the world. To honor his legacy and his incredible body of work, SiriusXM will create a special channel that will be devoted to his artistic genius,” said Scott Greenstein, President and Chief Content Officer, SiriusXM, in a statement.
Earlier Thursday, SiriusXM host Mark Goodman told Billboard that the channel was playing “everything we are legally permitted to do,” due to Digital Millenium Copyright Act restrictions.

“He was so prolific not only on his own, but with all these different bands and all the other artists he influenced and worked with, as well as artists that covered his music,” he said. “We have a lot of stuff to draw from.”
The Prince Tribute Channel will be available on Channel 50, online, and through the SiriusXM app.
