Sirius XM Radio continues its strong subscriber momentum. The firm added 334,727 net subscribers in the third quarter, more than triple the customer gain of 102,295 in the year-ago period, the company said.
It didn’t comment on the status of contract re-negotiations with Howard Stern whose $500 million, five-year deal with Sirius ends this year.
Management previously said it expects to have an update on the shock jock’s future by its full third-quarter earnings report, which is scheduled for next month.
Sirius ended the third quarter with a record 19,862,175 subscribers.
Over the first three quarters of 2010, Sirius added nearly 1.1 million net subscribers, compared to a loss of 488,126 in the same period of 2009.
Sirius recently raised its full-year 2010 subscriber guidance to a targeted year-end figure of approximately 20.1 million, implying net additions of about 1.3 million for the year.
