Girls mastermind Dunham also brought her fellow HBO cool girl co-stars Jemima Kirke, Zosia Mamet and Allison Williams along for the ride. The three voiced — who else? — Candace’s gal pal gang.

True to Bushwick millennial form, Candace and Homer embarked on a kaleidoscopic journey to the big city — Spaceman 3’s “Big City” to be exact. The psych band soundtracked the entire season premiere. Tattoos chased each other around Candace’s back as she and Homer twirled against a backdrop of vibrant colors.

“I imagine it is what people in bands secretly, or openly, dream of,” Spaceman 3 member Peter Kember told NME. “Animation is so useful for these sort of stretches of reality.”
