Mina said Saturday (June 11) that there were unarmed security guards at The Plaza concert venue and they checked bags and purses for contraband. But there were no metal detectors or pat-downs of people as they entered The Plaza, a converted Space Age movie house, Mina says.

Grimmie was shot to death after giving a concert in Orlando on Friday night. She died early Saturday. Mina says the man fatally shot himself after he was tackled by Grimmie’s brother. Police spokeswoman Michelle Guido says the suspect was 27 years old.
