Sheryl Crow is nine albums into a career that’s yielded 35 million sales, but she’s still in search of her sound.
On Be Myself, her latest album release, Crow returned to the source of all the fun. She investigated “what made my early songs strike people as being authentic and original. So for the first time in my life, I made it a point to sit down and really listen to my old records.” Next up, she reconnected with producer/songwriter Jeff Trott and studio pro Tchad Blake and set about making “some good old-school Sheryl Crow tunes” (and her first LP with Warner Music).
The first single from the album, “Halfway There” featuring bluesman Gary Clark Jr, now has an official video. Its director Gus Black fittingly captured Crow as she spread her wings on a globetrotting journey. Watch it below.
