
CNN has just announced that Sheryl Crow will be performing the National Anthem at the first Democratic primary debate next week (Oct. 13) — and she’s going to be assessing the candidates just like the viewers at home.

“I want to hear what everyone has to say and see where I fall,” the singer, who is an “avid follower of politics,” told CNN of her perspective on the election so far.
“I think most people know that I’m a Democrat,” added Crow, whose pet causes are the environment and raising minimum wage. “I’m fascinated with the process and I’m going to be excited to actually be there when our candidates debate.”

The debate, which will be moderated by Anderson Cooper, will take place next Tuesday (Oct. 13) in Las Vegas, and air on CNN at 8 p.m. ET.
