K-pop boy band SF9 returned today (Feb. 20) with a captivating music video for their new song “Enough.”
The video features the group charismatically staring down their reflections, and the camera, as they perform the sleek dance track, which is infused with trap beats, quirky digital blips, and reverberating bass.
“Enough” is the lead single from SF9’s sixth EP, Narcissus. Drawing its name from the character in Greek mythology, the term is used to refer to someone who falls in love with oneself. According to the group, the title of both the album and the song relate to a positive outlook on the way people view themselves. “It’s a song about self-love and it says we’re already beautiful enough inside, so we don’t need to become any more beautiful,” Youngbin told Soompi.
Ahead of the song’s release, SF9 garnered a lot of interest in South Korea following member Chani appearing in the hit television show SKY Castle, which aired its final episode on Feb. 1 on cable channel JTBC. Since it first began in November, the drama rapidly gained traction in the country and recorded the highest-ever ratings for a show broadcast on South Korean cable channels.
Several members participated in the songwriting process of the tracks on Narcissus, most prominently Zuho, who is sitting out the promotions for the album due to an injury.
After releasing their first single “Fanfare” in 2016, the nine-member boy band has continuously seen growth on the World Albums chart. They hit their peak at No. 5 on the chart dated May 6, 2017 with the EP Breaking Sensation.
