SEVENTEEN‘s comeback is imminent. Ahead of the arrival of their ninth EP, Attacca, the K-pop group is teasing fans with what they can expect from the new era by dropping a brand-new concept trailer, titled “Rush of Love,” released Wednesday (Sept. 29).
The trailer instantly grabs viewers’ attention with the word “boyhood” flashing on the screen as a blue teddy bear engulfed in flames is thrown down to to the pavement. After several scenes flash in succession — including snippets of the group’s members dancing in the street, playing with paintbrushes, riding on motorcycles and playing an electric guitar — all 13 guys come together in the end to admire a sunset on the rooftop of a building, with the album’s name and Oct. 22 release date hanging above their heads in animated text.
Attacca has yet to be released, but has already proven to be a commercial success for SEVENTEEN. After announcing pre-orders for the album were available for purchase, fans quickly bought up 1.4 million copies of the upcoming EP globally. Attacca is part of SEVENTEEN’s 2021 “Power of Love” project; the group’s Your Choice EP, as well as members Wonwoo and Mingyu’s “Bittersweet” single, live under the same umbrella and discuss the different types of love that one experiences throughout life.
Your Choice gave SEVENTEEN their first No. 1 effort on Billboard‘s Top Album Sales chart, with the mini-album selling 20,500 copies in the U.S. during the week of June 24. It also hit the No. 15 spot on the Billboard 200 all-genre chart, another first for the group.
