Sevendust has pulled out of this summer’s inaugural Rockstar Energy Mayhem tour, citing scheduling conflicts, according to a blog posting on the band’s MySpace page.
“Due to changes in Sevendust’s touring schedule, the band will NOT be appearing on the Mayhem Tour this summer,” the post reads. “However, the band will be touring in full support of their forthcoming release ‘Hope & Sorrow, Chapter VII.’ Stay tuned for more details.”
Sevendust is currently scheduled to open three Australian concerts for Ozzy Osbourne in mid-March. “Chapter VII: Hope & Sorrow,” Sevendust’s seventh studio album, is due April 1 via 7 Bros/Asylum. No further details about the tour cancellation were available at deadline.
The Rockstar Energy Mayhem tour, with headliners Slipknot and Disturbed, will play 30 Live Nation amphitheaters in North America during July and August. The trek, which begins July 9 at Seattle’s White River Amphitheatre, will also feature Dragonforce and Mastodon on the main stage.
Jagermeister is sponsoring one of two second stages, on which Airbourne, Five Finger Death Punch, 36 Crazyfists and the liquor company’s “battle of the bands” winner will perform. On the other side stage, Machine Head, Black Tide, Suicide Silence, the Red Chord and Wall Of Jericho will round out the bill.
