Sept. 11 will forever be a date to reflect and remember in the United States. Marking the 17th year anniversary of the deadliest foreign attack on U.S soil in history, the date has evolved into one of remembrance for those lost 17 years ago.
As ceremonies are held at New York City’s own 9/11 Memorial Plaza — as well as in many other locations nationwide — a few celebrities also took a moment to reflect on the date by sharing their thoughts and prayers on Twitter, paying their respects to both the city, the country and those who were lost that day.

Today is September 11. 17 years ago, the Twin Towers fell. I don’t have to pause to remember because I think of it every single day. Rest In Peace, all who perished and know we have not forgotten.

They just stopped everything at the airport and someone played Amazing Grace on bagpipes to honor the 9/11 victims. That really hit home. #NeverForget —-

We will always remember everyone we lost on 9/11, thank the first responders who keep us safe, and honor all who defend our country and the ideals that bind us together. There’s nothing our resilience and resolve can’t overcome, and no act of terror can ever change who we are.
